Jouvet Park, a green living room
Laid out at the end of the 19th century, Jouvet Park slopes gently down to the Rhône with its flowered paths, pools and little train. It is the city’s green lung, a place where families cross paths on Sundays and where you can spend an hour talking on a bench in the shade of a cedar. The ideal spot to turn a simple coffee into a real conversation.
The Rhône banks and ViaRhôna
The ViaRhôna, a long cycle path that follows the river from Lake Geneva to the Mediterranean, passes through Valence by the Épervière marina. A rented bike, a picnic and a few kilometres later, you reach the Rhône islands with a view of Crussol. Gentle exercise and beautiful scenery help the shyness of the first words slip away.
At Crussol Castle and in the hills
Facing Valence from the other side of the Rhône, Crussol Castle dominates the valley from its rocky spur. The climb is short but the view sweeps across the Alps and the Vercors. To the south, the Soyons hills hide caves and vines. On Lyad, members from Valence share their favourite trails; it is up to you to find someone to gain a little height with.
